IMPORTANT REMINDER: As the new school year begins, please be aware that there will be a lot of additional traffic around our school properties, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. This will be particularly noticeable during the first few weeks of school as we welcome students and as families settle into routines. Mrs. Nevarez spent the summer enjoying the outdoors and meeting new friends (even the fuzzy kind), but she also took some time to do some professional development, like Physics II and Physics and Technology Integration. She will be part of a two-year research study that will be using technology, such as micro:bits, mini spheros, and 3D Printers, to teach physics in both her science core and elective classes.
This summer, Mrs. Peterson kicked things off by racing in the Utah Valley 10K with her husband and son, achieving a personal record 10K time. Next, she celebrated her birthday by going to Newport Beach and Disneyland. That adventure was followed by favorite family traditions at the Lehi Round Up Rodeo and city celebrations. Mrs. Peterson also spent plenty of time in the great outdoors with several camping trips, including visiting Palisades State Park for paddleboarding and traveling to Scofield and Strawberry Reservoir for additional camping and fishing. In between it all, she stayed busy with high school soccer camp, soccer training sessions, and then tryouts for the fall season.

We are having a fun and busy summer as a family of 5, and soaking up all our baby Crew snuggles :)"
Attention all incoming MRJH students! Please come pick up your Chromebook and get your picture taken for your ID card/yearbook on August 6 or 7 from 8:00-2:00 in the lunchroom. Cant' make it either of those days? We will have make up pictures on August 28th and 29th. You will also be able to get your Chromebook on the first day of school. See you soon Huskies!
Check out Mr. Kohl's summer adventures: "I’ve been dad everyday going on adventures with my wife and daughter. Lots of reading, dancing, and watching sports. Gwen’s favorites are MLB, WNBA, NBA, and any soccer. We go to the aquarium on a regular basis and even to one picnic. Nothing too exciting but fun."

Mrs. Smith is filling the summer with lots of theater! (No surprise.) She is directing "Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the Musical" at the Hale Centre Theater. The best part? She got to meet Jeff Kinney, author of the Wimpy Kid series, and host a Zoom call with him and the cast/crew.
Mrs. Smith is also rehearsing for a show that she will perform in this fall at The Ruth called, "Flowers for Mrs. Harris."

A big welcome to our new orchestra teacher. Some of you may recognize Mr. Vernon as he previously taught at MRJH and also teaches orchestra at Lone Peak: "Hi everyone! I'm William, an extrovert who loves the outdoors, finding a good deal, and learning new things. Family is my why, and eating food and listening to classical music makes me happy. Grab an instrument and come make music and fun memories with us in orchestra!" We are so excited to have Mr. Vernon back with the pack!
Check out this summer adenture from Mrs. Tyler: "Mrs. Tyler in Kenya, Tanzania, and the Netherlands. My husband and I spent two weeks on: a boat trip around Lake Victoria (the second largest lake in the world), a trip to the Kenyan rain forest, a hit air balloon safari, and two open jeep safaris: one in Lake Nakuru and one in the Maasai Mara (the Kenyan side of the Serengeti). While there we hopped the border to Tanzania—literally. Then I spent a week in the Netherlands, where we viewed paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Van Gogh. We also visited the Anne Frank house, which was a sobering reminder to never forget our history. We climbed the tallest bell tower in Netherlands — 700 years old and 930 steps!😮 We also visited Efteling, which is the Dutch predecessor of our Disneyland. And we did a lot more things—too much to recount." Wow! What a trip!

This time from Mrs. Cragun: "Just returned from an unforgettable WWII and the Western Front Tour through Europe with an incredible group of travelers, in honor of the 80th anniversary of the war's end. From London's Churchill War Rooms to the sands of Omaha Beach- where we had the profound privelage of meeting and thanking D-Day veterans- every stop brought history to life in powerful ways. We explored Rouen and Paris, stood in Bastogne hearing firsthand memories of the Battle of the Bulge, crossed into Köln, and ended in Berlin at Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall. Grateful for the stories, the lessons, and the heroes who shaped our world." 🌎✨
