Hi Huskies! As we gear up for another great school year we wanted to welcome our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Felix!

It is a privilege to join the Mountain Ridge family. I am excited to work with the Mountain Ridge students, teachers and community. I live in the community and my children have all gone to Mountain Ridge. My children have all been positively impacted by the teachers and staff at Mountain Ridge and I have been impressed through the years by the efforts made by the MRJH teachers to help students succeed.

I have been a Jr. High assistant principal for 16 years. I have loved being a part of helping schools improve and helping Jr. High students learn and gain confidence in themselves. I love the energy of Jr. Highs and seeing students develop the knowledge, skills and dispositions that will help them succeed throughout their lives. I love seeing the impact teachers make in their student's lives and I love seeing teachers collaborate to identify best practices and make data driven decisions to improve their instruction.

I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work with the students, teachers, parents and staff of Mountain Ridge. I am excited to be a part of helping this school continue to thrive and get better each year.

Another fantastic summer highlight. This one comes from Ms. Dalton: I was honored to be part of a group of UVU master's candidates to travel to Thailand this summer for a week-long collaborative project with Chindamanee School in Bangkok. We also traveled a little bit around northern Thailand and Vietnam. We gave alms at a mountain temple, took a cooking class, made silk lanterns, and took a nighttime river cruise. At the school we were treated like royalty, even participating in a teacher appreciation activity. I taught English classes in 7-11 grades. I gave my students Husky paw stickers and they immediately stuck them to their lockers--so a little bit of MRJH lives in Thailand now. It was a great cultural experience, and teaching at the school was fun and educational.

Hi Huskies, July is flying by! Check out this summer update from Mrs. Carroll: This year marks the 100th anniversary of a USA Tour my grandfather and 2 of his buddies took in a Ford Model T. They left California on July 1, 1926. Along the route home they took this picture at the Grand Tetons. We spent our vacation looking for the exact location in the photo and found it!

We also stopped in Soda Springs Idaho and saw the cool water geyser go off.

Hi Huskies! Time for another summer update. This one comes from Mr. Woolley: I got to tour the greenhouse at Red Butte Gardens as part of the UtSTA Board and taught a 3D Science class for BYU and UtSTA. I visited Bear Lake for the very first time as part of a family reunion. Then, we went to Texas which included a visit to the Dr. Pepper museum, the Waco Mammoth National Monument, amazing BBQ, and an opportunity to watch the Japan v. Sweden World Cup game live. It’s been a good summer so far, but going too fast.
